Guide to designing custom multi-sport arena
Our Arena product range comes with various standard configurations that fit different requirements, but you may need a ball court tailored to your budget, space or community needs.
As Arena is a modular system which offers maximum flexibility, with out help you can design your own bespoke sporting facility in no time.
Step-by-step guide for creating a bespoke multi-sports games area
1. Establish the playing zone
It's important to get the size of your ARENA right for both the site and the users. We can design it specifically to cater to your needs.
ARENA features 3m wide goals and 1m or 2m wide panels, allowing you to customize the ball court to be as large or small as required—it's that easy!
Keep in mind, to achieve the stylish rounded corner look, the width of the ARENA playing zone should be an even number, such as 8m, 10m, and so on.
2. Consider Arena goal ends
Arena goal ends are perfect for practicing shooting skills and facilitating one-on-one games. Our range includes goal ends suitable for various ball sports, with customization options to meet your specific needs.
3. Panel options for your arena
Panels are available in four heights: 1m, 2m, 3m, and 4m, simplifying the design and construction of your Arena. Standard panels feature lower bars, while hockey areas can be equipped with solid polyethylene panels.
You can choose from various panel types to suit your needs, including bar, mesh, and solid panels. Additionally, you have the flexibility to select uniform heights for side and goal end walls or vary the height of each wall to match your design.
4. Access features for your multi-sport Arena
All entrance gates and chicanes are designed for easy access for everyone.
Escape points behind the goals facilitate quick ball retrieval and serve as additional entry/exit points, but can be closed off with mesh infills if needed.
Vehicle access gates are available to allow entry for emergency services or maintenance vehicles when required.
5. Enhance your arena with additional features
Skill panels, available in various designs and colors, can be included at any height on your Arena to help users practice and improve accuracy and coordination skills. Reverse facing basketball boards and hoops can be added to the back of the goals, increasing the number of users in the system.
Mini goals provide extra play elements, allowing smaller groups to practice in different parts of the multi-sport arena. These can be positioned wherever needed.
6. Add seating and shelters
Even the pros need a break, whether it's halftime in football or between quarters in basketball. Add team shelters to your sports court to give players a place to rest during breaks and provide spectators with a dry spot to watch the game.
Our seating options are specifically designed to match the Arenas, ensuring a complete and cohesive sporting experience.
7. Type of surfacing and style
Arena can be installed on any hard-standing surface, and we also offer surface-mounted Arena systems. Tarmac remains the most popular choice due to its ease of installation, low maintenance, and suitability for most sports.
For a splash of color, consider an acrylic resin surface. This material allows water to drain through, preventing puddles, and can be customized in various colors. Resin is ideal for running tracks around the outside of an Arena as well as inside.
8. Choose your color
Are you in an area of natural beauty but need to install sports equipment?
HAGS offers a range of colors that allow MUGAs (Multi-Use Games Areas) to blend seamlessly into woodlands and green spaces. Our customizable color options ensure that your sports equipment complements the natural environment, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the area while providing functional and attractive sports facilities.
