Case Study: Community Playground in Jebjerg, Denmark
In the small town of Jebjerg, with just 1,082 residents and a small school of 94 students, children are excited every morning to play in their new playground, which feels like a small amusement park. This transformation was made possible by a generous local foundation that donated 3 million Danish kroner for the project.
Given the school’s central role in the community, it was chosen as the playground’s location. After a competitive bidding process involving seven companies, the foundation and school selected HAGS as their partner.
The goal was to create a playground that offered play, movement, and meeting areas for the entire community, not just the school. The result is a vibrant space featuring four distinct play areas:
- An ARENA multi-use games area
- A large UniPlay multi-play unit
- A skate area
- Various other play structures
HAGS Denmark designed a custom UniPlay unit that provides countless opportunities for challenges and games, catering to both younger children and their parents.
The new playground has become a cherished meeting place for the entire town, with both Jebjerg School and the local community thrilled with their exciting new space.
