Inclusive themed playground revitalizes Kenyngton Manor Park community
The objective of the Friends of Kenyngton Manor Parks was to enhance the play experience for children, fostering physical, social-emotional, and cognitive-creative development within a secure environment. Their vision was to create an inclusive park by installing a direct path to the playground and incorporating more diverse and accessible play equipment.
To realize this vision, the group diligently pursued funding from Spelthorne CIL and Your Fund Surrey to finance the development of the new play area. Collaboration with the local community, inclusivity advocates, families with special educational needs (SEN), and engagement with local school children played a pivotal role. The children's input, gathered through design sessions, significantly influenced the planning and execution of the new play area.
The project not only achieved its primary goals but also succeeded in fostering a sense of community. The introduction of the new playground has sparked community events and facilitated the formation of meaningful friendships among residents. The collective efforts of the Friends of Kenyngton Manor Parks have not only enhanced the play environment but have also strengthened the bonds within the community.
We asked, would you recommend HAGS?
"We looked at various companies to get the best equipment for our budget. HAGS was by far the best. The choice, vibrant colors, and most important for us, the range of inclusive equipment. The team was so patient and kind, with expert knowledge and advice. We were kept updated throughout the whole process and we are so pleased with the result." – Friends of Kenyngton.
