In terms of bringing communities together, the San Francisco Arena System is in the Premier League of sports installations for young people. The main court playing zone is 28 metres by 16 metres, surrounded by 1 metre high side panels, with chicane entrances, and 2 metres high end panels with goals and basketball hoops. Through the chicane gate to one side is a central assembly area flanked by two 6 metres by 8 metres mini court playing zones, with mini goals at either end. The entire installation has a sin bin and lean-back spectator seating to allow friends, relatives and other members of the community to share in the excitement of interactive sports play.
